The Monuments Men Movie

And then George Clooney turned them all into movie stars. For the Hollywood Monuments Men, see here and then see the movie in theaters February 7, 2014

Speaking of Hollywood, here are my three of my favorite World War II movies:

A Foreign Affair, 1948
Written and directed by Billy Wilder, starring Marlene Dietrich and Jean Arthur. An excellent, satirical look at life in the immediate aftermath of the war.

The Third Man, 1949
A classic. Watch it online here.

The Search, 1948
Montgomery Clift’s first starring role. A small, flawed movie but I like it. It’s about a young boy who runs away from a displaced person camp in Germany. The Americans try to find his mother and, because it’s Hollywood everything turns out all right.
